A Little About Me

February 4, 2008 / by tiffsiemens

Hello all out there! My name is Tiffany and I am a Recreation Administration major with an option in Special Events and Tourism.  I am technically a senior, but I changed my major from liberal studies to recreation as a sophomore, so I have a few more classes to make up for.  I have very happy that a changed my major I love the Recreation Dept!  I hope to be able to work for an event planning business and plan corporate and private events or work for a winery and plan their events and help with marketing.

I just spent last semester studying in Australia and it was amazing!!  I was on the Gold Coast in between Sydney and Brisbane, but much closer to Brisbane, in a city called Surfers Paradise.  I know, it sounds pretty rough.  It was beautiful! I lived in an apartment right on the beach and in the center of a very busy touristy city.  I went to university about a 20 minute bus ride from my apt.  I chose Australia not only because it's warm and they speak english, but they offered classes that applied directly to my major.  I was able to take event management and tourism classes.

For fun I enjoy running outside, reading, cooking, and um...haning out with friends (that sounds pretty corny).

I grew up in a very tiny town in between Placerville and Auburn called Garden Valley.  It's very near Coloma which is the spot on the American River where gold was discovered.  I have two younger brothers and parents who are a nurse and a high school teacher.

Good intro.  Yes, I like Brisbane a lot--especially the campus at the University of Queensland.

The American River is sweet, sounds like a great town to grow up in.
